Cast History

Picture
In 2008, the local Shakespearean troupe, the Montford Park Players, were invited to present the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Carolina Cinemas on Hendersonville Road in Asheville, North Carolina.   They assembled a cast, arranged for some props, and Asheville gained a shadow-cast called "Unexpected Pleasures!"

As always happens, time passes, and the cast has grown and changed.  Montford Park Players continue to support the cast through the use of their spotlight and "immoral" support.

After a couple of years at the Carolina Cinemas, Unexpected Pleasures moved to the Cinebarre in Biltmore Mall - until it was bulldozed for the outlet mall.

We used perform on the second Saturday of every month at Asheville Brew & View (Asheville Pizza & Brewing on Merrimon Ave.) , up until COVID hit.

These days, we perform a few times a year at various venues around town. Keep posted here or on our FaceBook group to stay in touch!
